New Climate Rating Tool from Iceberg Data Lab Empowers Everyone to Measure Impact

Iceberg Data Lab has announced, during Responsible Investment Week, the publication of the Climate Rating scores of all 8,500 companies within its research universe, available to the public on the Iceberg Data Lab website. This initiative aims to increase transparency and facilitate access for a wide audience to independent assessments of companies' alignment with the Paris Agreement climate goal.

The Climate Rating analyzes companies' performance in terms of their climate trajectory. Each company is ranked according to six categories, based on its alignment with the 1.5°C target, ranging from Leader to Low.

The ranking is carried out by sector of activity and is based on the SB2A (Science-Based 2-Degree Alignment Metric) indicator developed by IDL. The SB2A identifies the largest carbon emitters and climate trajectories and helps to build portfolios with limited climate risk.

“By making the Climate Rating accessible to all, we are helping to improve transparency on companies' climate performance. At a time when many stakeholders are under pressure or suffering from a shortage of resources, we are reaffirming our company's commitment to supporting the financial sector in the transition,” explains Matthieu Maurin, CEO of Iceberg Data Lab.

This new step confirms Iceberg Data Lab's commitment to providing innovative solutions to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy that respects planetary boundaries.
